The UK and Japan have agreed to enhance their collaboration in quantum technologies under the UK-Japan Frontier Technology Partnership. The agreement was signed following a meeting between Prime Ministers Keir Starmer and Sanae Takaichi in London.
The two countries aim to advance quantum computing, sensors, and communications, and will work together on integrating quantum systems with high-performance computing. The agreement also mentions testbeds, evaluation frameworks, and system integration.
Additionally, UK authorities highlighted the export deal of ORCA Computing to Japan, noting it as one of the first instances of a major corporation purchasing a quantum computer.
