Strategy has voiced strong opposition to MSCI's proposed revisions to its index inclusion criteria, denouncing the changes as "discriminatory and arbitrary." The new guidelines suggest that companies with less than 50% of their assets linked directly to their primary business operations could face increased scrutiny, risking their inclusion in MSCI's indices.

In an initial assessment based on these updated criteria, Strategy and Metaplanet found themselves flagged for possible exclusion, while SharpLink has been placed on a watchlist. MSCI is currently gathering public feedback, with a deadline set for September 30, and a final decision anticipated by October 16.
