Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix plan to invest approximately 800 trillion won ($518 billion) in four chip manufacturing plants in South Korea, aiming to double production within five years.

According to CoinDesk, due to the demand for AI, the project may be completed by 2034-2035 instead of the previously set target of 2044. SK Hynix is also preparing a listing in the U.S. for about $29 billion to fund further expansion.
