Ripple has secured initial approval for a CASP license in Luxembourg, as reported by The Cryptonomist. This approval, documented in a Green Light Letter, is a preliminary step and requires the company to fulfill additional criteria before receiving the final license.
Upon full approval, Ripple Payments will be positioned to provide regulated crypto asset and stablecoin payment solutions to banks, fintech firms, and corporations across 30 nations within the European Economic Area. This new CASP license will enhance Ripple's existing European EMI license. The company also highlighted that Ripple Payments has already facilitated transactions exceeding $100 billion across more than 60 markets.
