Trezor has announced an update to its Trezor Suite, increasing the maximum length of passphrases from 50 to 128 characters. This new feature complements the seed phrase, providing users with a separate wallet that has its own addresses and balances. To utilize the extended passphrase length, users must update their device's firmware. Additionally, Trezor has issued a reminder regarding vulnerabilities in Coldcard devices. A firmware bug previously led to the generation of seed phrases with insufficient randomness, enabling potential attackers to recover them. According to Trezor, the use of strong and unique passphrases has helped some users secure their funds against such threats.
