On August 7, the NSP Law Firm will hold an online meeting to discuss upcoming changes in cryptocurrency regulations in Russia, set to take effect on September 1 with the implementation of the "On Digital Currency and Digital Rights" bill. This information was provided to ForkLog by the event organizers.

“The Russian cryptocurrency market is on the brink of a reboot. A sector that has long operated with minimal regulation will now transition into a system governed by licenses, registries, controlled intermediaries, and mandatory operational rules,” NSP representatives commented.

The briefing targets professionals currently active in the market or those launching crypto projects, including institutional participants. It aims to clarify who will need a license, which businesses might find it beneficial to develop crypto initiatives internally, and which models may be too costly or risky.

Speakers will provide insights on the following topics:

  • the components of the new market infrastructure — a chain of intermediaries between investors and cryptocurrency wallets;
  • how existing players can adapt — strategies for exchanges, banks, brokers, asset managers, and fintech companies;
  • whether there will be exceptions to the general rules — the use of cryptocurrency outside the Russian infrastructure, including foreign trade settlements;
  • options available for crypto projects abroad — opportunities in the UAE and the High-Tech Park in Belarus.

Speakers will include NSP partner Alexander Nektorov, senior lawyer Bulat Khalilov, and attorney Kamila Samaeva.

Participants from crypto platforms, banks, brokers, fintech firms, institutional investors, and foreign trade participants currently working on related projects are invited to join.

Participation is free. Registration is open, but applications will be reviewed by the organizers, with confirmation sent individually. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers.
