Meta has introduced a personal AI agent named Muse, designed to assist users with daily tasks such as online shopping, scheduling, booking tickets, and managing emails.

Muse operates on the Muse Spark model. Unlike typical chatbots, this agent is focused on autonomous actions. It monitors incoming messages, adds important dates to calendars, compiles shopping carts, and fills out web forms. For secure transactions, the developers have integrated Stripe's Link service, with plans to later add support for Shop Pay and 1Password.
The agent runs in a dedicated environment called Muse Secure VM, which includes a built-in browser and terminal. It has the capability to write code and create utility tools tailored to specific tasks. Muse can operate in the background, sending notifications only when necessary, and all irreversible actions—like bill payments or sending emails—require user confirmation.
Instead of lengthy text messages, the assistant can generate interactive documents, expense trackers, and summary tables. Users have the flexibility to customize the agent's name, appearance, and communication style, as well as review its activity log and modify data stored in its memory.
Initially, access is available to users in the United States. The service can be accessed via the website muse.ai, mobile apps for iOS and Android, and through WhatsApp. The agent will also be integrated into the company's smart glasses in the future.
A basic plan is offered for free but requires a linked bank card. For enhanced features, there are paid subscriptions available: the Power plan for $20 per month and the Maximum plan for $100 per month.
In January, Mark Zuckerberg announced the launch of Meta Compute, a new initiative aimed at strengthening the company's AI infrastructure.
