The European Commission is on track to introduce the Quantum Act by late 2026, aiming to accelerate the advancement and commercialization of quantum technologies. This initiative seeks to boost production capabilities and fortify supply chains across the sector.
In recent discussions within the European Parliament, representatives from the industry and governmental officials highlighted several challenges, including disjointed investments, inadequate infrastructure, a lack of skilled workers, and insufficient collaboration among EU member states. The Commission is positioning the forthcoming act as a developmental support for the quantum industry rather than imposing restrictive regulations.
