The annual financial disclosure from President Donald Trump, published by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, has unveiled significant earnings from his cryptocurrency activities in 2025.
This comprehensive report, spanning over 900 pages, outlines the income and financial assets associated with Trump's diverse business interests, prominently featuring cryptocurrency as a major source of income.
In total, Trump's cryptocurrency endeavors generated over $1.2 billion in earnings. He disclosed holding more than $50 million in Bitcoin and between $5 million and $25 million in Ethereum, alongside other digital currencies.
Notably, Trump made just over $635 million from his meme coin, primarily from royalties tied to a licensing deal with Celebration Coins, as per the filing. This meme coin, known as TRUMP, was launched on the Solana network shortly before Trump assumed office again in January 2025. It surged to a multi-billion-dollar market cap within hours of its release, but subsequently declined significantly. Currently, the coin is trading at $1.66, with a market cap of $394 million, which is approximately 98% lower than its peak value on January 19, 2025.
Additionally, Trump reported net proceeds exceeding $588 million from token sales managed by World Liberty Financial, a decentralized finance and stablecoin initiative run by Trump and his business associates.
This latest disclosure follows an earlier announcement in May that detailed Trump's profits from trading securities, including various cryptocurrency-related stocks like Robinhood and Coinbase.
Trump's involvement in cryptocurrency continues to spark debate among U.S. lawmakers, particularly among leading Democrats who oppose the crypto-focused Clarity Act. Although the bill has passed in the House, it is stalled in the Senate. Critics from the Democratic Party assert that the legislation should not advance without provisions preventing the president and his family from participating in cryptocurrency businesses.
