The best crypto exchanges based on liquidity, security, altcoin selection, KYC, and bonuses.

There is no universal "best crypto exchange"—each trader has their own goals. Some prioritize privacy, others seek deep liquidity, while some want early access to new tokens.

We ranked exchanges based on five key criteria and selected winners among platforms available to users in the CIS for 2026.

How We Compiled the Ranking

The main selection criterion was accessibility for users in the CIS. Platforms like Coinbase and Gemini, which cater to the American market, were excluded from consideration.

In each category, we identified a winner and two runners-up. The evaluation was based on public data: trading volumes, verification policies, security history, the number of available assets, and bonus program conditions.

Winners in each category:

  • Liquidity — Binance;
  • User bonuses — BitMEX;
  • Security — Binance;
  • Altcoin selection — MEXC;
  • Verification simplicity — Toobit.

Best Exchange for Liquidity — Binance

According to CoinGecko, as of January 2026, Binance's daily trading volume exceeded $13 billion in spot trading and $21 billion in derivatives. The Trust Score is a perfect 10 out of 10.

The spread on pairs like BTC/USDT, BTC/USDC, ETH/USDT, SOL/USDT, and others remains at 0.01–0.02%—the best in the industry. The order book depth allows for the execution of large orders with minimal slippage.

Binance's stablecoin reserves exceeded $51 billion in December 2025.

  • Bybit ranks second in derivatives volume, with about $17 billion daily. Open Interest exceeds $13 billion;
  • MEXC shows a daily volume of $9 billion in derivatives, with 876 pairs compared to Binance's 631 and Bybit's 711. Trust Score is 9 out of 10, below the leader and Bybit (10/10).

Best Exchange for User Bonuses — BitMEX

BitMEX offers trading bonuses of up to $5050 USDT for new users. Holders of the BMEX token receive additional benefits: discounts on trading fees of up to 70%, rebates on withdrawal fees, and VIP service. The exchange regularly hosts trading tournaments with large prize pools in BTC and USDT.

The referral program offers 60% of trading fees from referred users for life—one of the highest rates in the industry.

Best Exchange for Security — Binance

In its 2025 report, Binance mentions 29 certifications, including ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 22301, ISO 42001, and PCI DSS.

In December, Binance became the first global exchange with full ADGM authorization from Abu Dhabi's financial services regulator.

The SAFU insurance fund amounting to $1 billion covers losses from platform vulnerabilities.

In 2019, the exchange experienced a hack of 7000 BTC but fully compensated the losses. In November 2023, Binance paid a $4.3 billion fine to the U.S. Department of Justice, demonstrating its ability to work with regulators.

Best Exchange for Altcoin Selection — MEXC

MEXC offers nearly 2000 crypto assets and 2500 trading pairs—more than any other centralized exchange. The platform is the first among CEXs to list new projects, including meme coins, DeFi projects, and AI tokens. For instance, in October 2025 alone, MEXC added 200 new coins.

  • KuCoin takes a more conservative approach to listings. According to CoinGecko, the exchange offers about 971 cryptocurrencies and 1175 trading pairs. The platform is also developing its IEO direction through KuCoin Spotlight;
  • HTX publishes quarterly reports analyzing trends and promising sectors. In 2025, HTX added 166 new assets. As of January 2026, 641 crypto assets are traded on the platform.

Best Exchange for Verification Simplicity — Toobit

On Toobit, mandatory verification is absent. Users can register with just an email and start trading immediately without uploading documents. The exchange offers two levels of KYC: basic and advanced.

For the basic level, users only need to provide their nationality, full name, and identification number from an ID card, driver's license, passport, or residence permit. No document upload is required.

For advanced verification, users must provide an identifying document and undergo facial recognition via the Sumsub service.

  • HTX offers basic access with a withdrawal limit of up to 5 BTC, which can be obtained by simply providing nationality, first name, last name, and date of birth. Data verification takes less than a minute;
  • Binance requires mandatory verification, but it is conducted quickly, as evidenced by its user base growth to over 300 million in 2025. According to the exchange's data, it took nearly five years to reach the first 100 million users, just over two years for the next 100 million, and only 18 months for the last 100 million.
