The SpaceXAI team has unveiled Grok 4.6, a new flagship model designed to tackle long-term agent tasks, programming, and the development of interactive applications.
This latest version builds on Grok 4.5, which was released in early July.
According to the announcement, the developers emphasized the model's ability to work on a single task for extended periods rather than just providing isolated responses. Grok 4.6 can explore unfamiliar subject areas, design applications, implement core functionalities, test results, and refine them multiple times based on feedback. Additionally, SpaceXAI noted that during longer tasks, the model frequently verifies its work before moving on to the next phase.
Grok 4.6 achieved a score of 61 in the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, equaling GPT-5.6 Sol based on a composite index derived from nine benchmarks. Both models rank just below Fable 5 Max.

New Features of Grok 4.6
One of the primary enhancements is the ability to create applications based on a general idea. Grok 4.6 can independently investigate requirements, determine project structure, implement interactions, and continuously improve the output.
In visual and interactive projects, SpaceXAI reports a stronger initial outcome compared to Grok 4.5: the neural network can immediately establish the structure and visual language of an application before proceeding to iterations.
Grok 4.6 also received broader training for agent tasks, particularly in scenarios where AI autonomously executes a series of actions rather than merely responding to prompts.
The new model is already accessible via API, Grok Build, Cursor, and various partner platforms. The base price starts at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens, with the accelerated version costing twice as much.
It’s worth noting that on August 12, the SpaceXAI team introduced Grok Bot, a system of AI agents designed to handle complex work tasks, operating in a messaging format.
