S&P Global has reached an agreement to acquire OpenZeppelin, a platform specializing in smart contract development that was founded in 2015. According to the company, its OpenZeppelin Contracts library has been utilized in projects amounting to over $37 trillion in value, including major stablecoins and tokenized funds. The team has conducted more than 900 security audits of contracts, identifying over 10,000 vulnerabilities.
OpenZeppelin confirmed that its Contracts will remain a free, open-source product, and the company’s employees will retain their jobs. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
