SoftBank Group Corp. has seen its credit risk surge to levels not observed in almost four years, with five-year credit default swaps (CDS) climbing to 432 basis points. This increase in risk comes amid rising costs associated with artificial intelligence projects, higher borrowing expenses, and potential acquisitions, notably of Allied Universal. According to a Bloomberg Intelligence analyst, SoftBank is projected to face a cash outflow of at least $6 billion by March 2027. In response to these financial pressures, the company's shares have fallen approximately 50% since their peak in June.
