Bitcoin mining firm IREN has signed a sponsorship deal with the Spanish football club Real Madrid, becoming its official cloud AI partner. The financial details of the agreement remain undisclosed. In June, IREN completed the acquisition of the Spanish data center developer Nostrum Group, gaining approximately 490 MW of secured network capacity in Spain. The company now boasts a total energy capacity portfolio exceeding 5 GW. Additionally, IREN is enhancing its infrastructure to support AI workloads while maintaining its Bitcoin mining operations, which currently have a hash rate of around 36 EH/s.
