Huawei has officially launched HarmonyOS 7, the newest iteration of its operating system, which emphasizes the integration of AI agents. The updated digital assistant, known as Xiaoyi, now oversees more than 2,100 system functions and communicates with around 2,000 third-party AI agents.
Additionally, Huawei introduced openPangu 2.0, a suite of models designed to enhance the HarmonyOS ecosystem. The stable release of HarmonyOS 7 is anticipated to arrive in the fall of 2026. As reported by Counterpoint Research, HarmonyOS captured 19% of the mobile operating system market in China during the first quarter, slightly ahead of iOS, which held 16%.
