On July 23, an unknown individual accessed the X account of Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev. The profile featured an advertisement for the Vladhood (VLAD) token, which was launched on the Pons platform in the Robinhood Chain just 46 minutes before the hack. In a fake post, the token was touted as the "official mascot" of the network. In the hours following the announcement, trading volume for the coin on Uniswap exceeded $22 million. Pons allows token creators to collect trading fees without touching the locked liquidity, a tactic the hacker exploited six times, earning 31.6 ETH (approximately $59,000). The proceeds, including 72 million VLAD tokens, were distributed across three new wallets.
