The Ethereum Foundation has welcomed pcaversaccio, a well-known security researcher in the Ethereum community, to its board, bringing the total membership to four and marking a significant step in its leadership restructuring.

pcaversaccio, known informally as "pc," joins the board to enhance the foundation's governance.

pcaversaccio, also a co-founder of the emergency response initiative SEAL 911, will contribute to the board for an initial one-year voluntary term. He has previously been involved with the EF's Silviculture Society, an advisory group that helps maintain the foundation's core values such as censorship resistance, open-source development, privacy, and security.

With this new addition, the Ethereum Foundation's leadership now consists of four members: President Aya Miyaguchi, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, Swiss legal advisor Patrick Storchenegger, and pcaversaccio.

The board's responsibilities include defining the strategic vision of the Ethereum Foundation and ensuring that management decisions align with the organization’s fundamental values. It also acts as a "security council" to protect the foundation's mission and ensure compliance with Swiss law, where the foundation is headquartered.

pc's inclusion comes at a time of notable transformation for the Ethereum Foundation. Over recent months, numerous high-profile researchers and executives have left the organization, with some launching new ventures focused on Ethereum, prompting the EF to redefine its role towards long-term stewardship rather than being the central hub for ecosystem development.
