🏛️ White House Finalizes Ethics Agreement on CLARITY, Paving the Way Forward
The primary obstacle to the landmark market-structure legislation for crypto might have just been overcome.
Crypto In America host Eleanor Terrett reported on Monday afternoon that the White House has sent an ethics package related to the CLARITY Act to select Senate Republicans. The specifics remain undisclosed, but industry insiders are optimistic that this could lead to the release of revised bill language soon.
This development is significant because the ethics clause has been the major contention point. For weeks, Senate Democrats, led by Elizabeth Warren, have withheld their support for CLARITY unless it prohibits the president, senior officials, and their families from profiting from crypto. This demand intensified after Trump revealed over $1.2 billion in cryptocurrency earnings. Democrats even labeled the bill as “corrupt” during a press conference last week. If the White House has indeed approved the ethics language, it would eliminate the very objection that has allowed Democrats to withhold the necessary votes for CLARITY to meet the 60-vote requirement.
🚨NEWS: I’m receiving information from multiple sources in the industry that the White House has agreed on an ethics package for the Clarity Act and has sent the language to certain Senate Republicans this afternoon.
The specifics of the agreement are still unclear (I’ve reached out for…

However, it’s essential not to get overly optimistic. The Polymarket contract for “CLARITY Act signed into law in 2026” increased by 12% following the news (now at 42%), but remains considerably lower than its peak of around 75%. Thus, passing this year still appears challenging.
Nonetheless, if the bill does pass due to this White House negotiation, it could bring about changes not currently anticipated. Many analysts believe that significant institutional and investment capital is waiting on the sidelines until this legislation is enacted. If it moves forward, it could potentially trigger a surge in Bitcoin prices (and other major cryptocurrencies, along with various altcoins) and might lead to new all-time highs within the next 1-2 years. Just a few weeks of progress might be enough to push Bitcoin back to the $80k mark.
While this remains speculative, it appears that the bill has gained renewed momentum. The upcoming weeks are crucial as the August recess approaches.
