China's inaugural full-length film created with artificial intelligence, titled "Sanxingdui: Future Past," has struggled to make an impact at the box office, earning only approximately $180,000 in its first four days of release. The film premiered on October 23 and had a production budget exceeding $1.5 million, taking over two years to complete. Despite the involvement of around 100 people in its development, the characters, voices, and visual scenes were all generated by neural networks. The producer, Bona Film Group, acknowledged the lukewarm reception from audiences but emphasized that the project represents an "important experiment."
