The Blockchain Association has sent a letter to U.S. Senate leaders, including John Thune and Chuck Schumer, expressing its support for the CLARITY Act. The organization believes that the bill maintains strict obligations for intermediaries and provides law enforcement with essential tools to combat financial crimes.

This initiative comes in the wake of criticism from the National Sheriffs' Association, which has called for the narrowing or removal of section 10604 due to its exemptions for decentralized finance (DeFi). According to Bloomberg, Thune is still anticipating a preliminary vote on the proposal before the Senate's August recess.
