Overview

  • In the last week, Bitmine procured 7,391 ETH, decreasing from 10,399 ETH the previous week, bringing its total ETH holdings to 5,805,238.
  • The overall value of crypto, cash, and speculative investments rose to $11.6 billion, up from $11.3 billion.
  • Cash and marketable securities have dropped to $104 million, down from $482 million a month prior.

Bitmine Immersion Technologies announced on Monday that it has acquired 7,391 ETH valued at approximately $14 million over the past week, raising its total Ethereum holdings to 5,805,238 ETH as of Friday evening. This follows a purchase of 10,399 ETH the week before.

The company’s total assets, combining crypto, cash, and what it refers to as "moonshot" investments, have climbed to $11.6 billion, a rise attributed mainly to the increase in ETH's price, which has seen a 2.6% uptick over the week to $1,928. This price surge has added around $280 million to the overall value, alongside the $14 million from recent purchases.

However, the company’s liquidity is diminishing, with cash and marketable securities now at $104 million, a significant drop from the $173 million reported just a week ago and down from $482 million a month earlier, marking a 78% decrease. In addition to ETH, Bitmine also holds 209 Bitcoin, a $180 million stake in Beast Industries, and $69 million in Eightco Holdings.

During the week, Bitmine repurchased 3 million of its shares, down from 4.5 million, with a cumulative total of 19.1 million shares bought back since July 1, under a $4 billion authorization. Chairman Tom Lee remarked that the company continues to see its shares as undervalued, noting that this buyback program is the largest undertaken by any crypto treasury firm.

Currently, staking covers 5,067,309 ETH, which is 87% of total holdings, a slight increase from 85% the previous week. Lee has estimated that the annualized revenue from staking could reach $257 million, based on a weekly yield of 2.63%.

Reaching the Final 4%

Bitmine’s holdings represent 4.8% of Ethereum's total supply of 120.7 million. The company reiterated that it is 96% of the way to its goal of achieving a 5% stake, a figure it has maintained for five consecutive weeks. To reach that target, Bitmine needs to acquire an additional 229,800 ETH, which would take approximately 31 weeks at the current purchasing rate.

Since implementing its buying strategy on June 30, 2025, Bitmine has consistently acquired ETH weekly. In June, it purchased $214 million worth during what Lee characterized as a "superficial" market selloff, followed by an additional $49 million in July amid early interest for the Robinhood Chain, before easing back later that month after surpassing 5.79 million ETH in total holdings.

Lee expressed disappointment that the Clarity Act would not be voted on by the Senate before the August recess but noted the impact of softer inflation and employment data, which has lowered the likelihood of a Federal Reserve rate hike in September to 40%, down from 75% two weeks ago. This probability has since risen to 46%, according to the CME FedWatch.
