In the first week following the launch of direct trading for U.S. stocks on Binance, assets under management reached $400 million. More than 80% of the trading volume came from users in emerging markets, ForkLog representatives reported.
The service launched in early June. Unlike tokenized copies, it offers users direct ownership of securities. A regulated clearing broker, Alpaca Securities, manages the custody of over 7,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs.
Transactions are conducted in stablecoins, including USDT and USDC. The minimum trade amount is $5, and trading is available 24/5.
According to Binance, about one in ten visitors to the product page registered, and 64% of those registered completed at least one trade.
“The low entry threshold reduces barriers that have long limited access to U.S. stocks. The traditional route involves bank transfers, currency conversion, and deposits ranging from $500 to $10,000. For a $1,000 investment, associated costs can reach up to $130 in both directions. Analysts estimate that Binance reduces these costs by at least tenfold,” Binance noted.
Demand from Emerging Markets
The $5 minimum threshold influenced the transaction structure: nearly 40% of trades in the week did not exceed $100. About 25% of the service's clients were under 25 years old. Approximately 70% held stocks rather than trading actively. Over the week, traders opened positions in more than 1,100 instruments, with 124 exceeding $100,000 in volume.

Betting on a Super App
This launch fits into Binance's strategy of creating a financial super app, where cryptocurrencies, stocks, and payments are accessible within a single interface. Exchange analysts estimate the number of brokerage accounts worldwide at around 700 million (or 11% of the adult population). A comparable number of people own cryptocurrencies, while Binance's user base exceeds 320 million.

In the first week, stock trading volume reached about 2% of the volume of perpetual contracts on traditional assets. According to Binance Research, by 2031, crypto exchanges could bring up to 300 million new users and around $2 trillion in capital to global stock markets.
