Cathie Wood's Ark Invest made the decision to sell around $4.4 million in cryptocurrency-related stocks on Wednesday, reducing its holdings in Bitmine Immersion Technologies, Robinhood, Block, and Bullish after these stocks experienced declines.
The most significant transaction involved 120,665 shares of Bitmine, which were sold for about $2 million. Additionally, Ark sold 13,403 shares of Block, valued at approximately $1.1 million, along with 12,561 shares of Robinhood also worth around $1.1 million, and 11,314 shares of Bullish, which amounted to roughly $247,000. On Wednesday, Bitmine's stock fell by 5.6%, with the other three companies also closing lower.
Ark's latest trading report revealed that the firm purchased about $14.5 million in SpaceX shares across various exchange-traded funds.
This selling activity comes on the heels of Ark's recent investments in cryptocurrency stocks, having acquired approximately $43.5 million in shares of Coinbase and Circle over the past three trading days, including about $18.6 million in Coinbase stock and $12.9 million in Circle shares.
These actions are taking place as cryptocurrency equities have been affected by a downturn in digital asset prices. Robinhood, which reported earnings for the second quarter that exceeded Wall Street forecasts, noted a nearly 40% decrease in revenue from its crypto operations compared to the same period last year, attributed to a slowdown in trading activity.
