The Alchemy platform, in partnership with Visa, has launched the AgentCard service. This solution enables AI agents to make online purchases on behalf of users.

The integration with Visa Intelligent Commerce provides neural networks with a comprehensive data set: a virtual Visa card, email address, phone number, and cryptocurrency wallet. Using a single API, developers can set up agent access for payments in under a minute.

AI agents based on models from OpenAI or Anthropic will be able to book tickets, order groceries, and renew subscriptions without user involvement in the checkout process.

The system supports spending limits, restrictions by store categories, and customizable budgets. By default, payments are processed through Visa tokens, allowing users to retain banking rewards and credit lines. If a merchant accepts digital assets, the service can utilize a crypto wallet.

“Every shift in technology has created new economic participants. AI agents are the next step; they need access to the global economy,” said Alchemy CEO Nikil Viswanathan.

According to Visa representatives, the company's infrastructure will ensure the security and scalability of such transactions. The AgentCard protocol automatically selects the optimal payment method based on merchant support.

In June, the MetaMask team announced a wallet for the era of autonomous artificial intelligence.

Later, Coinbase introduced a service that connects an AI agent to a user’s account for trading, payments, and other operations within set limits.
