Utah has passed law SB 73, mandating that websites with substantial adult content must confirm the ages of users located within the state, regardless of whether they utilize VPNs or proxies to conceal their location. Additionally, these websites are forbidden from aiding users in circumventing age verification processes.
Noncompliance with this regulation could lead to administrative and civil fines reaching up to $2,500 per violation. Moreover, age verification service providers are prohibited from keeping any personal data after access has been granted.
