TikTok has initiated a trial for a new feature named Likeness Detection, currently available to a select group of creators in the U.S. This tool is designed to recognize AI-generated content that uses the creator's likeness, enabling users to flag deepfakes or fraudulent accounts. To use this feature, creators must first authenticate their identity through Jumio, which requires a live selfie and a scan of an identification document. TikTok assures users that it does not keep copies of the documents, and the biometric data is only used for verification purposes.
