Indian AI startup Sarvam has raised $234 million at a valuation of $1.5 billion, achieving unicorn status. The leading strategic investor is HCLTech, which will invest $150 million. Other participants include Bessemer Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures, and Peak XV Partners.
Sarvam aims to increase its Series B funding to $300 million. By 2026, the startup plans to release open-source models with 30 billion and 105 billion parameters, with the new funds directed towards developing the next generation of models and expanding its computing infrastructure.
