Samsung C&T has announced plans to invest up to $100 million in Kairos Power, focusing on the development of the 50-MW Hermes 2 reactor intended for Google. Of the total investment, $70 million will be directed towards equity in the startup, while the remaining funds will support engineering services.
The Hermes 2 reactor is anticipated to begin operations by 2030, as part of a larger collaboration between Kairos Power and Google. This partnership aims to establish reactors with a total capacity nearing 500 MW by 2035.
