The State Duma has passed the law "On Digital Currency and Digital Rights" in both its second and third readings. This legislation recognizes digital currencies as property, establishes general rules for cryptocurrency circulation, and ensures judicial protection of rights to these assets regardless of prior declaration.
For the law to take effect, it must be approved by the Federation Council and signed by the president. Once this occurs, Russians will be able to legally invest in cryptocurrencies through Russian exchanges, brokers, and asset managers.
