According to the developers, the vulnerability stemmed from a flaw in how the Omni infrastructure for deposits and withdrawals interacted with the smart contract of the trading platform.

On-chain investigator ZachXBT reported that the attacker executed multiple withdrawals from the platform's hot wallet on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). The stolen funds were transferred to the KuCoin exchange and subsequently converted into Bitcoin.

The NEAR Intents team has already resolved the issue. As of the time of this report, the protocol and website are back online.

However, deposits and withdrawals in the BSC, Polygon, TON, Optimism, Avalanche, Stellar, Monad, LayerX, Adi, Scroll, and Plasma networks will remain unavailable for approximately another 12 hours while developers finalize fixes.

Protocol representatives have promised to fully reimburse the losses.

Additionally, the team stated that they have reported the incident to law enforcement and are collaborating with security partners and blockchain analytics to trace and recover the funds. A detailed report will be released in the coming days.

It is worth noting that on September 24, Bitget's security systems detected unauthorized transfers from certain hot wallets, with the affected assets estimated at around $351.6 million.
