Metaplanet's stock has experienced a decline of approximately 17% over two trading days, bringing the price down to 244 yen. This drop occurred following a message from CEO Simon Gerovich directed at investors, amidst criticism regarding the company's options program for executives and its ties to shareholder MMXX Ventures.
The pool of options surged from around 46 million to 319 million potential shares due to new issuances. In August, the company recorded this figure at 319.46 million shares and implemented a five-year lock-up period; however, some investors have called for the cancellation of additional rights.
