MetaMask Adds Support for TRON Blockchain

MetaMask has announced the integration of TRON support within its mobile app and browser extension, allowing users to engage with the TRON network more seamlessly.

This update enables users to transfer and trade TRC-20 tokens and stake the TRX cryptocurrency directly through the wallet. By securing assets in the mobile app, users can earn Bandwidth and Energy, which are essential for covering transaction fees on the TRON platform. However, the web version of MetaMask does not yet support direct staking.

Following the update, a TRON address will be automatically created in users' multi-chain accounts, facilitating asset transfers between TRON and other EVM-compatible blockchains.

Sam Elfarra, a representative of the DAO protocol, highlighted the significance of this integration, stating that it broadens access to a blockchain that handles over $21 billion in daily stablecoin transactions.

This enhancement is part of ConsenSys's ongoing strategy to broaden MetaMask's multi-chain capabilities, building on previous updates that included Bitcoin support in December 2025, as well as integrations with Sei and Monad.
