Ledger has launched the Agent Stack toolkit for AI agents to interact with cryptocurrency wallets. These agents can check balances, analyze portfolios, and prepare transactions, but signature operations require confirmation on the device.

According to the announcement, Agent Stack has undergone closed testing with over 1,000 agents. The company describes it as a set of open tools for the scenario "agents propose, people confirm, Ledger device executes."
Agent Stack includes Device Management Kit Skills, Ledger Wallet CLI, Ledger Enterprise CLI, and Ledger Enterprise Multisig CLI. The documentation states that the Ledger Wallet CLI allows agents or users to retrieve account data, check balances and transaction history, prepare asset transfers, and more. Actions that do not require a signature can be performed without the device, but transactions involving fund movement must be confirmed on the Ledger screen.
A separate section indicates that Wallet CLI supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, EVM-compatible networks, and Solana.
Ledger also offers the use of devices outside of cryptocurrency wallets. Through OpenPGP, they can store keys for accessing encrypted files, environment variables, and API tokens. Via FIDO2, they can serve as a hardware login key for GitHub, npm, 1Password, Discord, and other services.
The company linked the release to its 2026 AI Security Roadmap. In the second quarter, Ledger plans to launch identification tools and command line interfaces, in the third quarter—Agent Intents and Agent Policies for confirmations and action rules, and in the fourth quarter—a Proof of Human mechanism.
Previously, Ledger researcher Donjon Baptiste Boualo revealed a vulnerability in Tangem hardware wallets. A laser injection attack can reset the card's password and gain control over the assets stored on it.
Additionally, in May, CoinDesk reported that Ledger's IPO has been postponed indefinitely due to challenging market conditions.
