  • Kalshi, a prediction market platform, has introduced a Midterms Hub that presents real-time market odds for specific U.S. Senate and House races as the November elections approach.
  • The hub integrates live betting prices, polling data, Federal Election Commission fundraising statistics, and curated news to provide a thorough overview of each race.
  • This launch coincides with Kalshi's efforts to gain regulatory approval for expanding perpetual futures trading beyond cryptocurrency and to secure new funding, targeting a valuation of approximately $40 billion amid increasing trading activity.

Kalshi has launched its U.S. "Midterms Hub" as part of its strategy to become the leading source for election odds in the country.

The new hub enables users to track the anticipated outcomes for individual U.S. Senate and House races as the elections in November draw closer, according to a press release from Kalshi.

As stated by Kalshi, the Midterms Hub offers a real-time view of where users are inclined to place their bets at any moment. “It’s designed as the one-stop-shop for state and federal election forecasting and provides a clear picture of where each race stands,” the company noted.

The displayed outcomes reflect the most recent odds for each market across a U.S. map, Kalshi explained in the announcement.

In addition, the hub will showcase polling averages, allowing potential bettors to compare prediction market odds with statistical surveys of voters, alongside the latest fundraising data from the Federal Election Commission for individual candidates, as well as curated news and analysis from various sources.

This announcement follows reports that Kalshi Inc. is in the process of obtaining regulatory approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to broaden its perpetual contracts beyond cryptocurrency.

Kalshi is also looking to gain approval for trading precious metals with a well-known financial derivative that never expires, applicable to gold, silver, and platinum, as reported by Bloomberg on Tuesday.

The introduction of the Midterms Hub is Kalshi's latest initiative to bolster its political presence ahead of the midterm elections in November. Earlier this year, the platform launched the “American Power Index in May, which it described as the “S&P 500” for politics, designed to track the performance of political parties.

In June, the prediction market firm recorded a total notional trading volume of $31 billion, marking over a 70% increase from May, with sports contracts making up approximately 85% of the trading volume. The company reported that World Cup-related volume on its platform reached $22.42 billion.

The new hub also follows reports from a month ago that Kalshi is aiming to raise capital at a valuation of around $40 billion, nearly doubling its previous target of $22 billion from the last funding round.
