The prediction market platform Kalshi has taken a significant step by issuing a lifetime ban to George Santos, a former U.S. Republican representative, marking the first such action in its history. In addition to the ban, Santos has been penalized with a fine of $71,356.
Santos was found to have traded contracts concerning his own attendance at the President's address to Congress in February. He allegedly made deceptive public statements to manipulate the prices of these contracts, resulting in a profit of $17,839 from his trading activities.
