Huawei has accelerated the launch of its AI chip, the Ascend 960DT, now set for the first quarter of 2027, ahead of earlier projections. Following this release, the company plans to introduce the Ascend 960PR in the third quarter of the same year, according to management statements reported by Reuters.
In addition to the chip launches, Huawei has unveiled the Peerium architecture, aimed at enhancing the integration of AI accelerators into expansive computing systems. This new architecture is capable of linking up to 1 million processors. Huawei also acknowledged its current inability to satisfy the domestic demand for AI hardware in China.
