Horizon Quantum has announced plans to set up a 256-qubit IonQ system utilizing ion trap technology in Dublin, marking its second location for software testing on actual quantum hardware.
This new system will be part of the Triple Alpha platform, which Horizon Quantum is creating to facilitate the development of quantum programs that are not tied to any particular hardware. The company's first testing site was opened in Singapore in December 2025, where it employed superconducting quantum processors from various suppliers.
