The Glamsterdam update has moved into its final development phase, with testing currently underway for all planned Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) ahead of its public testnet launch. Although a specific activation date has yet to be determined, the launch is expected in the latter half of 2026.
According to Paritosh Jayanti from the Ethereum Foundation, Glamsterdam is poised to be the most significant fork of the Ethereum network since The Merge in 2022. This update includes several key features such as ePBS (EIP-7732), block-level access lists (EIP-7928), and a thorough revision of transaction costs.
