Google's Gemini app has achieved remarkable growth, boasting a monthly user base that has now exceeded 950 million. This figure reflects a significant increase, with daily active users tripling in the past year alone. Just in February, the app recorded 750 million unique monthly users. Alphabet's CEO, Sundar Pichai, credited the surge in users to the introduction of the Daily Brief and Gemini Spark features.
In the last year, Gemini has also seen impressive download numbers, with over 137 million installations on iOS. Data from Sensor Tower reveals that in the first half of 2026, Gemini's market share among AI assistants climbed to 27.7%, while ChatGPT's share dipped below 50% for the first time, indicating a shift in user preference.
