Gemini's Audience Approaches 1 Billion Users

Google's Gemini app has reached over 950 million monthly users, with significant growth attributed to new features, while ChatGPT's share declines.

Google has announced that the monthly audience for the Gemini app has surpassed 950 million users, with daily users tripling over the past year. In February, the service had 750 million unique monthly users. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai attributed this growth to the launch of the Daily Brief and Gemini Spark features.

In the past 12 months, the app has been downloaded over 137 million times on iOS. According to Sensor Tower, in the first half of 2026, Gemini's share among AI assistants rose to 27.7%, while ChatGPT's share fell below 50% for the first time.
