Overview

  • Elliptic has unveiled Pulse, an AI-driven solution that enables police officers to quickly obtain a straightforward financial overview of any cryptocurrency wallet or transaction hash, eliminating the need for blockchain knowledge.
  • With just one click, officers can send a comprehensive analysis—complete with reasoning and notes—into Elliptic's forensic tools or their agency's workflow, ensuring that the final decision remains with the officer.
  • The company has successfully secured $120 million in funding from investors such as Nasdaq and Deutsche Bank and has been instrumental in recent law enforcement operations.

Blockchain analytics company Elliptic has launched an innovative AI tool aimed at helping law enforcement personnel understand cryptocurrency transactions they may encounter, without requiring extensive blockchain expertise.

Named Pulse, this newly announced tool allows officers to input a wallet address or transaction hash and receive an easy-to-understand financial summary in mere seconds.

Elliptic positions Pulse as a resource for frontline officers to make quick decisions about whether to escalate cases involving cryptocurrency, whether it appears on a suspect's device, in a scam victim's documentation, or at scenes of arrests or overdoses.

If further investigation is warranted, a single click can transfer the detailed analysis—including the rationale and field notes linked to a specific case—into Elliptic's existing forensic and screening tools or the agency's own systems.

The company emphasized that detectives who take over the case do not need to be experts in blockchain either.

“We developed Pulse because cryptocurrency is now a common aspect of every law enforcement agency, not just specialized units,” stated Jackson Hull, Elliptic’s Chief Technology Officer.

According to the London-based firm, Pulse utilizes the same intelligence as its advanced platform, which monitors over 99% of cryptocurrency trading activity and supports more than 65 different blockchains.

Elliptic also highlighted that the product is part of a governance framework for agentic AI it released recently, which underscores the importance of human oversight, model transparency, and the necessity for officers to maintain final decision-making authority rather than relying solely on AI.

This product launch follows a busy period for Elliptic, which raised $120 million earlier in the year from notable investors like Nasdaq and Deutsche Bank. The firm's research has played a crucial role in significant enforcement actions, including a crypto freeze by the Secret Service linked to a Telegram marketplace, and the Department of Justice's seizure of assets related to billions in cryptocurrency laundering, as well as insights into Iran's central bank acquiring USDT.
