Chainlink Connects DeFi to U.S. Stock Market with New Quoting Service

The oracle provider Chainlink has launched its 24/5 U.S. Equities Streams product. This service provides DeFi protocols with real-time quotes for U.S. stocks and ETFs during weekdays.

This tool streams market data not only during regular trading hours but also during pre-market, post-market, and overnight sessions. This capability enables the creation of on-chain markets for tokenized real-world assets (RWA) that operate without price gaps.

Previously, oracles typically updated information only during the main trading session (from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM ET), leading to "blind spots" outside these hours, which posed risks for traders. Chainlink's solution addresses this issue by ensuring continuous trading of perpetual futures and other stock-based derivatives.

In addition to average prices, the data streams include information on supply and demand, recent trades, volumes, and market status. These metrics are essential for developers to accurately calibrate liquidation mechanisms and risk management.

The technology has already been integrated by exchanges such as Lighter, BitMEX, ApeX, and Orderly Network. The solution is available across more than 40 blockchains. Chainlink anticipates that this product will accelerate the widespread adoption of RWA.
