  • Packs could contain redeemable Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin.

The trading card company Cardsmiths has rolled out a new collection that carries a patriotic theme: Currency Series 6. This series is a collaboration with America250, the organization appointed by Congress to manage the celebrations of the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Launched to coincide with the semiquincentennial of the Declaration of Independence, this collection features 90 base cards and boasts over 120 distinct designs.

The cards highlight significant historical figures, currencies, markets, and cultural elements that have influenced both the American and global economies, with artwork from renowned creators such as street artist Mr. Brainwash, along with illustrators Jon McTavish and Thomas Zahler.

Although the American theme is novel, Currency Series 6 maintains the tradition of earlier Cardsmiths collections by randomly including crypto redemption cards, which can be exchanged for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, or Dogecoin. The top rewards feature a full Bitcoin and a full Ethereum token, currently valued at around $66,600 and $1,900 respectively.

Decrypt has previously reported on collectors finding a full Bitcoin redemption card in packs that were sold for as little as $13 at retailers like GameStop. In this latest release, Cardsmiths is offering collector boxes of two packs starting from $37.

“With this milestone release, we're making history with history,” remarked Steve Loney, co-founder and CEO of Cardsmiths, in a statement.
