The net assets of institutional clients at the cryptocurrency exchange Bitget surged by 45% compared to the third quarter of 2025. This was revealed by the platform's CEO, Gracy Chen, in a letter marking the exchange's eighth anniversary.

During the same period, the number of active market makers rose dramatically from 90 to 248, reflecting a 176% increase. Chen emphasized that the institutional sector is the company's primary strategic focus.

"The future of finance will not revolve around a choice between traditional and digital assets. It will focus on making access to all markets simpler, more efficient, and interconnected," stated the exchange's head.

According to her, Bitget will continue to invest in key areas for institutional clients. These include enhancing trade execution quality, which encompasses improving order matching speed and reducing slippage, as well as ensuring security and segregated asset storage. The company also plans to develop relevant infrastructure, ranging from FIX/API connections and sub-accounts with portfolio margining to over-the-counter (OTC RFQ) trading and credit lines.

Highlights from the First Year of UEX

Universal Exchange (UEX) is Bitget's model for trading cryptocurrencies, tokenized stocks, commodities, and currencies all through a single account. Chen introduced the UEX concept on September 15, 2025.

According to the company, at its peak, non-cryptocurrency assets accounted for 40% of the total trading volume. Daily turnover for perpetual contracts on traditional assets exceeded $10 billion, with similar figures noted in the CFD segment.

The rToken is a series of RWA tokens supported by the Reality platform, in partnership with Bitget. The exchange reports that one in four new clients opts for these instruments, which have seen 3 million transactions.

The rToken series covers about 1,000 assets, with contracts on traditional assets comprising 300 instruments and CFD pairs numbering around 100.

In its Q2 report, Bitget noted that the share of cryptocurrencies dropped to 39.8% on certain days. Precious metals accounted for 40-55% of daily volume on active trading days.

Moving forward, the exchange plans to enhance dividend payments, regular investments, and lending for rToken. Bitget will also deepen the integration of its multi-asset account, where tokenized stocks can serve as margin collateral. Previously, the company released a guide on collateralizing cryptocurrencies and tokenized stocks for institutional users.

Additionally, on September 2, Bitget launched a promotion for new users from the CIS and Ukraine, offering up to $700 in Bitcoin for verification, first deposits, and trading volume.
