The special administrative region of Bhutan, known as Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), has appointed the Canadian firm 3iQ to manage a portion of its Bitcoin reserves. Previously, the kingdom had announced plans to transfer up to 10,000 BTC to GMC, and the signed agreement marks a significant step forward. Details of the arrangement have not yet been disclosed.
The head of 3iQ has committed to providing "institutional discipline" and transparent capital management, while the director of GMC referred to the firm as a key partner. Both parties have announced plans for further developments in Gelephu, aiming to establish it as an offshore digital hub focused on new technologies and institutional management.
