Anthropic, the developer behind Claude, has announced the establishment of the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund. The company plans to allocate 5% of its shares to this fund, pending shareholder approval. This initiative aims to support non-profit organizations and assist individuals whose employment may be impacted by the growth of artificial intelligence. Furthermore, the board of directors has the option to allocate an additional 2% of shares to the fund for every 50% increase in the company's valuation. With prior commitments from founders and employees, approximately 20% of Anthropic's equity will be designated for socially beneficial purposes.
