Anthropic will enhance its computing capabilities at Hut 8's Texas campus through a $35 billion deal with Lambda.
Anthropic has struck a multi-billion-dollar deal to set up its computing operations at Hut 8's Beacon Point campus in Texas, collaborating with the cloud service provider Lambda, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The arrangement involves Nvidia leasing essential facilities from Hut 8, where Lambda will deploy its accelerators and offer services to Anthropic.
Valued at approximately $35 billion, this partnership aims to generate around 350 MW of power in Texas, specifically related to Anthropic's collaboration with Lambda.
At the time of the report, Hut 8 shares were trading at $76.22, reflecting a decline.
Previously, Hut 8 had announced two long-term power leasing contracts at Beacon Point but did not reveal the involved parties. The company has yet to confirm the roles of Lambda and Anthropic in this project or specify the contracts' details.
Additionally, a report in August highlighted that revenue from cloud AI services had overtaken earnings from Bitcoin mining for the first time.
