Amazon MGM Studios has scrapped plans to release the film Artificial by Luca Guadagnino, which focused on the crisis at OpenAI and the firing of Sam Altman on November 17, 2023. Just five days after his dismissal, Altman returned as CEO of the company.
Amazon stated that the film would be better suited for release by another studio and is now seeking a "new home" for it. This decision comes just over three months after the announcement of Amazon's partnership with OpenAI, which included a $50 billion investment.
