YouTube has removed several channels featuring AI-generated content, including some of the most popular in the segment. This was reported by The Verge.
Among those affected is CuentosFacianantes, which boasts 5.9 million subscribers and 1.2 billion views. In a November report, Kapwing identified it as the most popular channel for AI-generated videos.
Also removed was Imperio de Jesus, which had an audience of 5.8 million. It aimed to "strengthen faith in Jesus through fun interactive quizzes."
A few weeks ago, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan addressed the issue of low-quality AI content on the platform. In a letter to users, he outlined the company's plans to reduce its spread, utilizing the same system that combats spam and clickbait.
In total, the platform has deleted or cleared videos from 16 channels, including Héroes de Fantasía and Super Cat League. The description of the latter provides insight into the creator's approach:
"Welcome to [insert channel name] — the world's best AI cinema for cats! 🐾✨ In 2026, we are reimagining digital storytelling. We combine the grace of cats with the power of cutting-edge generative AI to create hyper-realistic, emotional, and viral adventures like you've never seen before. From heart-wrenching sagas of 'From Rags to Riches' to epic journeys of feline heroes — our channel is where advanced technology meets the soul of a cat."
The aforementioned channels had over 2 million subscribers.
Last year, YouTube began its fight against "inauthentic" content by removing accounts that posted fake AI-generated movie trailers.
Deezer on the Warpath
Music streaming service Deezer has also tightened its controls. In January 2025, the company launched a tagging system for tracks generated by neural networks, and now it has opened up commercial access to its detection tool.
Last year, the company tagged over 13.4 million tracks created with AI. Daily, 60,000 such tracks are uploaded to the service, accounting for 39% of the total volume. Up to 85% of these compositions are marked as fraudulent — they are demonetized and removed from the royalty pool.
"Until now, Deezer has been the only music streaming platform that clearly marked and removed AI music from recommendations. This is done to prevent royalty theft from real artists," the announcement stated.
The company announced the launch of its AI detection technology for sale.
"We have already conducted successful tests with industry leaders. […] From now on, we will license the product to make it available to anyone interested," emphasized CEO Alexis Lanterne.
Recall that in July 2024, YouTube Music and Deezer joined Spotify and Amazon Music in the race to integrate new AI services.
