Visa has officially transitioned its Visa Direct service for pre-funding international payments to commercial use, moving beyond the pilot phase. The initial partner for this service is Inyo Global, a payment platform that caters to banks, fintech companies, and money transfer operators. Clients of Inyo Global will now have the ability to use the USDC stablecoin to fund cross-border payments almost in real-time, even during weekends and outside of banking hours. This functionality is integrated through existing Inyo APIs, taking into account regional restrictions. It’s important to note that USDC is utilized for financing operations rather than for direct payments to end recipients.
