Chinese robotics company Unitree has introduced its latest humanoid robot, dubbed "Superman," which can run at a speed of 12.66 m/s and jump up to 2 meters vertically from a standing position. This development was reported by Reuters.

According to the company, the creation of this humanoid, which surpasses human world records in athletics, took just over three months. However, it is still a prototype and is undergoing further enhancements.

The announcement was made just before the opening of the World Robotics Conference in Beijing, scheduled for August 19-23, 2026.

On August 19, 2026, Unitree's shares are set to begin trading on the STAR Market of the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The IPO has been oversubscribed by retail investors more than 8,000 times, with the likelihood of an individual investor receiving shares estimated at about 0.018%. The initial offering price is set at 150.8 yuan per share, valuing the company at approximately 61 billion yuan (around $9 billion). The firm is backed by investors including Tencent, Alibaba, and DeepSeek.

Media reports indicate that ahead of the listing, derivatives in offshore markets suggested a strong debut for the shares, with the STAR50 index rising about 15% from its three-month low recorded at the beginning of August 2026.

As of July 2026, Unitree has produced approximately 18,000 bipedal humanoid robots across various models, according to reports.

It's worth noting that in August, AgiBot was vying for the top position in the global humanoid market, leading to disputes over the counting methods of the two leading companies.
